HCS Awards

The Histochemical Society offers a number of awards to its members, including travel awards and achievement awards. You must apply for an award or be nominated (see invidual descriptions for details), and must be a member in the Histochemical Society and attend the annual meeting to receive the award.

Each award's application or nomination form is presented below. You will need a word processor such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Works, WordPerfect, or OpenOffice to fill out the awards nomination form-files. There are underlined sections and text-boxes to enter in your information. These are not interactive forms, so you must restrict your changes to the appropriate fields. To open an award nomination form, right-click on the link and choose Save Target As/Save Link As (Windows) or hold down the Alt/Option key and click on the link (Mac OSX) and save it on your computer.

The application can be filled out in your word processor and returned to the Society as an email attachment to <mail@histochemicalsociety.org>. Please include HCS Awards Nomination 2008 in your subject line, and address the email to Dr. Richard Levenson, HCS Awards Committee Chairman.

The deadline for awards applications for the 2008 HCS Annual Meeting is November 7, 2007!

Scientists who utilize molecular imaging techniques for cells and tissues in their research are encouraged to apply. Scientists who have begun to work in fields relevant to the mission of the Histochemical Society may also apply. Membership in the Histochemical Society is encouraged but not required to apply for the award; recipients will be provided with one year complementary membership and will be encouraged to participate in HCS Committees. For the 2008 Annual Meeting: Applicants must submit an abstract to Experimental Biology 2008 by the November 7, 2007 deadline at <http://www.eb2008.org> and submit the completed application document to the indicated email address (see the document for more information).
